Biography
Nemashe Sivayogan is the Head of Treasury and Pensions at the London Borough of Merton, where she is responsible for managing the £1 billion Pension Fund and the Council’s £220 million treasury portfolio. In addition to her Treasury and Pensions responsibilities, she also oversees the Council’s Statement of Accounts, banking operations, insurance, and other key financial activities. A qualified accountant and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Nemashe brings over 30 years of experience in accounting and investment management. For the past 25 years, she has worked in local government, specialising in pension fund management, treasury management, and corporate finance. With her strong technical expertise, Nemashe contributes to the Scheme Advisory Board’s Reporting and Compliance Committee, supporting work on accounting and audit issues affecting Local Government Pension Funds. She also works with CIPFA’s Treasury and Capital Management Working Group, helping review and update professional guidance for practitioners across the sector.Member since
