Biography
Kirsty McLean is a partner at law firm Squire Patton Boggs and heads the SPB public sector pensions team. She has 25 years’ experience of advising pension scheme trustees, sponsoring employers and LGPS funds on all sorts of issues. In the public sector, she advises on investment (including LGPS pooling) as well as a wide range of compliance and governance matters like admission agreements, exit credit cases, member complaints, data protection issues, training sessions for pension committee and local pension board members and interaction with the Pensions Regulator. She is also the current chair of the Society of Pension Professionals’ public sector committee and has previously been a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers’ public sector committee.Member since
