George Georgiou

Biography

George has worked in the Trade Union Movement for over 30 years. Commencing in the RMT (then NUR) as an Industrial Relations Officer before moving to the Royal College of Midwives in 2003 as an Employment Relations Adviser where he gained a specialist knowledge of Pay and Pensions in the NHS and assisted in the transfer to the 2008 and 2015 schemes. He then spent 5 years at the BMA and HCSA utilising his knowledge and gaining a greater understanding of practitioner schemes. In late 2016 he joined the GMB as a National Pensions Organiser and now specialises in Public Sector Pensions including the NHS, Civil Service and Local Government Pension Schemes. He has been a Scheme Member Representative on the Board since December 2017 and was voted as the Vice-Chair in November 2025.
