Cllr John Beesley

Biography

Cllr John Beesley is the Board representative for the County Pension Funds. He was Leader of Bournemouth Council until 2019 at which time local government reorganisation formed the new BCP Council. For 12 years he was also responsible for Bournemouth Council’s Resources Portfolio and Council budget, as well as the first budget for the new BCP Council. He served as Chair of the Audit & Governance Committee for the first 4 years of the new unitary Council. He was Chairman of the Dorset County Pension Fund for 5 years, and has served on the Pension Fund Committee for a total of 20 years. He was Chairman of the Brunel Oversight Board which set up the Brunel Pension Pool and represented the Dorset County LGPS Fund on Brunel from its inception. In the private sector, he has been a Bournemouth hotelier for over 30 years and heads a hospitality consultancy specialising in hotel development and management.
